The position is in charge to develop the standard, the guidelines and the procedures capturing the best industry and company practices, regarding operational activities. This is done in close cooperation and consistently with Integrity and Maintenance engineers.


The role will provide support to the Assets as required to enforce and control implementation, also at early stage of development taking part to Operation Readiness assurance processes. He/she may actively be involved, with HSE, engineering disciplines and assets, in analysis of ongoing operations issues, in order to improve Operations Performance.

In his area of expertise he/she will be in charge to facilitate and drive the network within company in order to ensure best practices and lessons learned are shared between assets. These shall also be capitalized in order to support other functions like OBO, Business development. Expected to monitor industry practices in the discipline and communicate relevant information to the network.


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Define, develop and maintain relevant standards and guidelines, and in particular operational procedures to ensure safety, efficiency and consistency across all assets,
  • Define and organize actions to control implementation of best practices and standards. Share the lessons learned within the community of operations professionals. Participate, in close cooperation with HSE, to the analysis of events impacting operations, including near-misses, and propose relevant actions plans to leverage from the lessons learned,
  • Advise on deviations from standards and processes, in order for GO to propose a relevant answer to deviation request, within positions responsibility.
  • Support to Assets, OBO and Functions on request,
  • Facilitate and drive a network of Operations Professionals across the assets in order to facilitate sharing of knowledge regarding operations of an E&P Production facility.
  • Support ongoing field operations challenges, potential acquisitions, new investments and new field developments as required.
  • Key interfaces will be Asset, technical functions (project & engineering, reservoir and wells), HSE and production excellence.


Formal qualifications, skills and experience requirements:

  • University degree in oil & gas engineering or similar.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in petroleum/oil and gas industry, with a relevant experience in field operations activities.
  • Knowledge in field operations and maintenance.
  • Requires awareness and understanding of contributions by other disciplines, and ability to see own work within a multidisciplinary cooperation: a holistic understanding of E&P business.
  • Ability to address complex issues and to provide guidance to others on how work should be conducted
  • Ability to communicate highly specialist technical guidance/advice to others in an understandable way
  • Strong HSE leadership skills in an oil & gas environment.
  • Good communication skills in English, comfortable with the use of digital tools
